Community, Competition, and Compassion: Inside Our Friday Mixed Doubles Fundraiser
There’s something special about the beach tennis community coming together—not just to compete, but to support one another and make a difference.
On Friday, August 14, players gathered at Tower 26 in Santa Monica for an action-packed Mixed Doubles Tournament with a purpose beyond the competition: supporting those affected by the recent earthquake in Venezuela.
The rallies were fast, the competition was fierce, and the sportsmanship was fantastic. But the most important result happened off the scoreboard.
100% of the tournament registration fees were donated, helping raise more than $1,300 for earthquake relief.
Fueling the Fun
No beach tennis event is complete without great food, and Luis from Panita (@panitaca) stepped up in a huge way.
Cooking incredible food for players and beachgoers, Luis helped fuel the day's competition while also supporting relief efforts for his home country. It was a perfect example of what makes our beach tennis community so special: people bringing their talents, passion, and generosity together for something bigger than the game.
Tournament Highlights
Of course, we still came to compete—and there was plenty of great beach tennis throughout the day!
A huge congratulations to Jamie and William, who played brilliantly to take home the tournament title. 🏆
And while there can only be one winning team, the real victory was seeing so many players come together to support an important cause.
The People Behind the Event
Events like this don't happen without a great team working behind the scenes.
A huge thank you to Rich, Rob, Saiyam, and event creator Luis (@fonze_laca) for helping keep everything running smoothly throughout the day.
We also want to give a special shout-out to Beach Tennis Santa Monica (@btsantamonica) and Oh Mighty William (@williamlmfer) for providing the extra courts we needed to accommodate everyone who came out to play.
Thank You to Our Local Sponsors
We’re incredibly grateful to the local businesses and beach tennis partners who helped make the day possible:
Fogo de Chao - Santa Monica (@fogo)
Ginger’s Divine Ice Creams (@gingersdivine)

Your support helped turn a Friday afternoon of beach tennis into something that reached far beyond the sand.
